Our band (This Is Love) is a Folk/Soft Rock band from Ontario. We support Kids Help Phone, Autism Ontario, and local food banks. Every decision we make for this platform comes from a simple question: what do indie artists actually need?

The idea of artists helping artists isn't new. It's actually one of the oldest traditions in music. Local scenes thrive when established artists bring up newer ones. Collectives share resources. Bandmates become lifelong collaborators.

What happened with the internet is that music became global but the community aspect got diluted. Now an artist in Ontario is competing for attention with artists in Los Angeles, London, and Seoul — without the benefit of a shared local scene to support them.

Platforms tried to fill that gap, but most of them turned the artist community into a transaction. Pay to submit. Pay to be heard. Pay for feedback. The community aspect was stripped out entirely.

We didn't want to build that.

SubmitMusic.ca started from a different premise. We're artists. We know what it feels like to spend real money on a submission platform and hear nothing back. We know what it feels like to get placed on a playlist with no real audience. We know what it feels like to wonder whether any of it is working.

So we built what we wanted to exist.

A platform where submissions don't cost money. Where playlists are real, with real listeners. Where the goal is for every artist on our platform to reach more people than they could alone.

We also support causes that matter to us — Kids Help Phone, Autism Ontario, and local food banks. That's part of who we are as a band, and it's part of what this platform represents. Music has always been about connection and community. We're just trying to honour that.
