Yes. Completely free. No credit card, no subscription, no per-submission fee. Ever. We keep it free because we are artists too, and we believe the indie community deserves a platform that doesn't extract money from struggling musicians.

How does the queue work?

When you submit a song, it enters a queue for the matched playlist. Every day at 9am Eastern, our rotation runs. Songs are protected for a minimum of 30 days — only songs that have been on the playlist for at least 30 days are eligible to rotate out. When a slot opens, the next song in the queue is added. Your queue position is always visible on your dashboard.

How long does my song stay on the playlist?

A minimum of 30 days — guaranteed. Once your song is added to a playlist, it is protected from removal for 30 days. After that window, it becomes eligible to rotate out as newer songs move through the queue. Most songs stay longer depending on queue activity. This protection ensures every artist gets real exposure time, not just a day or two.

Are the playlist followers real people?

Yes — every follower on every SubmitMusic.ca playlist is a real person who chose to follow it. Our playlists grow entirely through organic sharing. When an artist gets placed on a playlist, we ask them to share it on social media. Their friends, fans, and followers click the link, discover the playlist, and follow it if they like what they hear. That is the entire growth model — real people finding the playlist through real recommendations, not advertising, not bots, not artificial inflation. What this means for you as an artist: when your song is streamed from one of our playlists, it is being heard by an actual listener. Those listens generate genuine engagement signals, which is what Spotify's algorithm responds to. A real listen from a real person carries far more weight than any inflated number.

How is my song matched to a playlist?

We calculate a fit score based on genre overlap (70% weight) and language match (30% weight). Your song is assigned to the highest-scoring playlist with a fit of at least 40%. If no playlist qualifies, we'll tell you which genres to adjust.

Question 6

Can I submit multiple songs?

Accepted Answer

Yes — up to 5 songs per playlist at any time. Each song can only be on one playlist at a time. You can submit different songs to different playlists simultaneously.

Question 7

Do I need a Spotify artist account?

Accepted Answer

No Spotify login required at all. You just need a Spotify track URL (the link to your song on Spotify). You can optionally add your Spotify artist URL to your profile to help us verify your identity.

Question 8

What happens if my track gets removed from Spotify?

Accepted Answer

We run a dead link scan every Sunday. If your track is no longer available on Spotify, it's automatically removed from the playlist and you'll receive an email notification.

Question 9

How do I see my queue position?

Log in to your dashboard and click "My Songs". You'll see the queue position for every submission, plus estimated rotation time.

Can I cancel a submission?

Accepted Answer

Yes — as long as your song is still in the queue (not yet added to the playlist), you can remove it from your dashboard. Once a song is active on a playlist, it stays until it naturally rotates out.
